We offer you traditional Tibetan refreshments. Our Centre is famous in the area for serving delicious Tibetan butter tea, barley wine (qin ke jiu) brewed in and brought down from Zhongdian (Shangri-la) and for serving yak cheese produced from cattle grazing on mountain pastures fed by snow melt originating at 6700M in Our Homeland of Dechin and Zhongdian. The Tibetan Dance Centre offers a restaurant open all day with full menu in both Chinese and English and includes excellent vegetarian selections; a bar service, selection of tea, coffee and light refreshments throughout the day. Additionally, we can offer a set Tibetan Special with a selection of different Tibetan specialities to taste. See special internet voucher for discount price. Additionally there is a special selection of favourite dishes - my recommendations for visitors to China who are unfamiliar with Tibetan and local food. Please note: you will not be served MSG (Monosodium Glutamate) in your food unless requested. Why not celebrate a special occasion with us. We celebrate a number of birthdays and anniversaries in our Restaurant and Bar. Email me if you would like us to help with your special occasion. |

Sustainable livelihoods. The Tibetan Dance Centre, Restaurant and Bar was formed in March 2006 by Lesong Chelay (Tibetan language teacher) and Jane Wheeler (Chartered Environmentalist), two Tibetan dance enthusiasts who previously worked together in a Tibetan language and culture school in the Meilei Snow Mountains. The development of The Tibetan Dance Centre follows this work providing employment for local Tibetans aiming to maintain Tibetan customs and cuture in the form of song and dance. People who work with us (The Team) are Tibetan, with family homes in Shangri-la (Zhongdian) and the surrounding villages; we aim to grow our Dance Centre using and nurturing individual skills to provide a sustainable future in this rapidly changing economy. |
